The first 6 days....

We headed out on the not so open road June 29th with the final destination of Mudd Butte, South Dakota. We split the distance into two nightly stops the first one at my folks house in Buhl. The next morning after visiting with Grandparents we finally pulled out of Buhl headed to Riverton,Wy.

Shane toured us around his old stomping grounds in Idaho Fall even taking a peek at where his old fort was. We made the nessasary stop for Ice Cream at Alpine Junction before chugging through traffic at Jackson. We are always amazed at the beauty of the Grand Tetons and the Wind River Indian Reservation.

We stayed the night in Riverton visiting with Shane's cousin Randy and his family. They are a great family with open hospitality and relaxing stop over. We headed out of Riverton destination Grandpa & Grandma Ingalls house in South Dakota.

We decided to avoid most major Highways on our way to the Ranch, winding through Wyoming Oil Country. Stopping off for lunch at Tumble Weed Cafe, were they had wonderful burgers and malts. We pulled into the Ranch around 5 p.m just in time for the kids to do some running around while I helped Grandma get dinner fixed and the places sat.

Grandma spoiled us by preparing some of our favorite dishes, reading stories to the kids and cuddling with the younger ones.
Grandpa is doing much better then he was earlier this spring. As he put it "I'm doing better than I was, but not as I can be". . He gave the kids rides in his versitle tractor which they all had a big grin (Grandpa included) while doing some errand that was thought up.

We went over to Shane's Aunt Beth's and Uncle Terry's for the 4th. Where we met Ridge Hotchkiss their Grandson. Wes and Tottie's little boy who is 6 months younger than Seth. We had a fun evening and it was great visiting with all of the family that we got to see while there That evening of the 4th when we had loaded the kids into the car and started to pull away, Wes flagged us down saying we had a low tire and wouldn't make it back to Grandpa's house. So we pulled near the shop finding that it was more than flat but punchered. So after reading the manuel they (Wes, Terry, and Shane) figured out how to get the spare down from underneath. Wes and Terry were big help, changing the tire for us in the lighted shop. Tuesday before heading down the road again we stopped into Spearfish getting the tire fixed.
