These past weeks

Image
These past two weeks have brought a lot of things. Like my niece Lizzies 3rd birthday.! Thank you Misty! She seems very mature for her age! :-) Dakota crawling better, clapping at Daniel's silliness, and cutting her two bottom teeth. Daniel getting much better about using the potty chair, he likes to be stubborn sometimes and absolutely not use the potty chair. He is cutting his two year old molars. Kelli and I are not struggling with her doing her homework. Coloring between the lines better, cutting and glueing like a pro. We had a few really nice days of weather, now the repreive is over and the rain has come again. And looking for ideas on how to get Kelli to wake up in the night when she has to go potty. We had it beat for a while, but we are having trouble with it again. Lizzie with her mom & Dad in South Dakota this summer. At Bryn Birthday Party in Sept. Grammie with all the grandkids. Shane finished his two big project with 13 min. to spare, praise the lord. He is kno...

Happenings

Image
Things Happening in our lives,? Let see Shane is working long hours for the next week at work cuz he has two big projects due a day apart. He's been really good and leaving for work around 6 a.m. so that he can be home around 8:30p.m. Last week he didn't see the kids for 3 days since they were in bed by the time he made it home. This week I've tried to keep the kids up til he got home. Last night we were able to visit he Cousin Wesley from SD. Wesley was in town for a Conference for his work. It was great seeing him and having a chance to go out to dinner. I loaded the kids in the car drove down to pick Shane up at work, then to dinner further down South. Well worth it. Shane cousin Wesley, Uncle Terry, in back the wives Toddie, & Beth Kelli is doing great and enjoying herself in Preschool. We are building her confidence in her writing, coloring within the lines, and cutting out pictures. She does great repeating her memory verse for each week. Her patience wears thin w...

Oh the pictures!!

This is great! I've asked and received! Shane's aunt Peggy sent pictures of the Ingalls reunion from this past July. So they filled in nicely with those from Wade.! Here are just a few of the ones for now that I'd have to say are first picks. Oh and a picture of Kelli's Pre-school class will be coming this week. Double Oops

Today was my dad's birthday, I even looked at the calendar and saw it written down. But somehow the wires in my brain weren't firing on that information. I kinda feel like Dori off of "Finding Nemo". Were she discovers she nows things but has forgotten them. :-) Also tomorrow is my sister Dawna's 4th wedding anniversy. So Dawna I promise to call tomorrow, or sometime today. Kelli is doing great in Preschool, I'm told that I need to purchase some kids scissors for her to pratice cutting paper. Which makes me feel like I've been slacking on that front. Oh well you can only do so much. Must keep Daniel away from those still, for a while. What a great Grandpa to pack around Dakota for me! Helping Daniel, and trying to not get him to hit the brakes Thanks Dawna for the Picture, probably use it for Christmas card!

All systems normal?

Howdy, not a lot to report. I'm trying to figure out a routine the days Kelli has Pre-school, and the days she doesn't. Just finishing up her second week. She is picking fights with Daniel when she gets home from school. And trying to start fights with me. Yeah not going to happen for long. Daniel is expanding his vocabulary, and becoming clearer on his words. We are trying to get him not to wrestle sister down when she doesn't hug him back. He is still learning to do something the first time we ask. Grammie floating boats with the kids Dakota is just a sweet little girl with ready smiles, she is sitting up and rolling/scooting all over the floor. Trying to make sure she doesn't get stepped on by the older siblings. Grandpa pointing out an Eagle, at picnic in the South hills with kids and dog Shane & I are praying about were are lives should go for the next year or so. Lots of things to consider and pray about. Dakota enjoying Grandpa playing with her.

Kelli's First Day of School

Image
Yikes say it ain't so! I'm sure every parent with kids either starting or already in school said on their childs first day of school. "They can't be old enough yet?" and "How did they get this big already?" Kelli did very well according to her teacher, which is a big relief to Shane & I. Shane was sick Monday and I was sick Tuesday & Wednesday. Yuk! Had a great time at my folks and am now starting a routine with Kelli in School three days a week in the afternoon . Grandpa helping the kids figure out bikes with pedal brakes!

Week full of memories!

Image
Long time it seems, but it's only been a week. The kids and I had fun with my folks, just hanging out, canning, playing with cousins. Enjoying fresh produce, seening old friends. ( I know I'm not that old)! My Mom with Dakota, & Kelli Mom giving Daniel a ride in the wheelbarrel after picking weeds! A fun part of the trip was we got to stay an extra day, so I got to visit with friends I hadn't planned on seeing. The Hunsaker family have been my friends since the fall 1992. When I was a freshman in Highschool. I've known Chet since he was 3, Hagen since he was a few weeks old, and Tony Garrett since he was a few hours old. I got a picture of Chet now 16, with Daniel. This is something I remember me and his uncle Robin doing with the boys. Picking them up so that they could pet our FFA steers. Boy how time flys. This is the picture with Chet Hunsaker and Daniel petting steers what a handsome young man he's turned into. More too come

Weekend fun

Image
This weekend Shane & I took the kids hiking once again. We seemed to have gone from easy to difficult the hike had 5 switch backs, elevation drop. This time we brought the jogger, it was a good thing too, or the kids may not have made it out. Oh wait! Kelli would have had to walk the whole time. We didn't make it all the way to the railroad tunnels, we'll try for those the next time when the tires are a little more inflated on the jogger. Kids and us enjoyed ourselves. Kristi & Dakota ready to walk! Shane & the kids enjoying the break before the switchbacks, Mom taking pictures for bribery? What a parent likes to see! Getting ready to go to my folks for few days next week.

Great Weekend!

Image
Well we survived the weekend. It was great, or course my camera ran out of batteries Sat. morning so I didn't get many pictures of us camping. That's a funny story after the fact. So I thought that the campground was on the south side of the wash out and it turns out that it was on the other side. So I drove up from our house thinking it was only 40 minutes. I got there couldn't go any further, turned around came home to find out the directions from the North end and drove another 1 1/2 to the campground arriving an hour or less before Shane came. Shane,Kelli, & Dakota enjoying the morning by the fire. Watching breakfast cook. The dogs and kids slept well, poor Daniel does not react well to mosquito bites. The next morning we loaded up and drove back around and within a mile of were we camped the night before. We hiked with some ladies and there kids from Church. It was a lot of fun and the kids were troupers. Double duty, Daniel in the front, Dakota in the back What a ...

Getting the kids ready

Image
So all last spring and this summer we've been telling Kelli that we would go camping. Either setting up the tent in the yard and have a sleep out or we thought in either SD or in Idaho for her birthday. But neither happened. The practice run So last Sunday evening Kelli pleaded with her dad and he set the tent up for the kids and they tried to sleep out there but were so excited it didn't quite happen. Our church group is going to go for a "Day in the woods" Sat., so I took to incitive and reserved us a camp site and tomorrow afternoon the kids will head up in the woods and go camping. I'm praying that it won't be too crazy til Shane joins us after work. What more can you ask for He has his sweater, diaper and rainboots on?!

Thank God for Grandparents

Image
Thank God for Grandparents for our own and our kids. Thank God for there words, hugs, kisses, and the special moments that we get with them. If you haven't Thanked God for all your Grandparents, take time to do so and pray for there health as they are getting older. I know that I've taken time to pray for them and will try and make a point daily to do so. Thank you God for all the kids Grandparents.

The Girls Checkup

Image
Today was Kelli's 4th Birthday Checkup and Dakota's 6th Month Checkup. The Stats are... Kelli 36lbs and 42 inches long; Dakota 15lbs and she grew an 1 1/2 inches. They are both healthy and Kelli passed her hearing and vision test. So other than picking up school supplies she is ready to start Pre-school. Oh My Gosh! Dakota wearing Uncle Wade's Hat Daniel is doing good, tormenting the sisters. We are trying to figure out when we are leaving for Idaho once again but for a long week instead of less than 48 hours. Kelli and Krysten All the nieces but Dakota swinging with Aunt Misty's help

Finally in South Dakota

Image
We drove to South Dakota Friday the 29th of June. The last of those driving to arrive. We met up with Shane folks and sibilings Saturday afternoon. I got the pleasure of meeting Shane great Uncle Art Boe. We hung out at Fred and Maries trailer visiting the remaining family members that were there. Then on Sundaywe all tried to go out to breakfast together, and then we had a fun time visiting Grandma Ingalls sibilings and various cousins. The kids played well together and we all tried to stay cool. Great Uncle Bryce did the traditional coin toss for the younger kids with Viking horns on his head! Grandpa Hugh made pitchfork fondue with the help of Blaine. Lots of visiting went on. (I might be off on the days, it all blurs together) Uncle Bryce tossing coins too the kids. On the 4th of July, Shanes Family headed out to Grandpa & Grandma's house to spend the day with family. Shanes Aunt Laila and family were staying out there also. The two K's ( Kelli & Krysten) rode horses...
